Djokovic reached yet another quarter-final of a Grand Slam and will now meet Andrey Rublev for a place in the final four of the Australian Open. Djokovic was in good spirits today as the numbing pain in his thigh wasn’t bothering him for now. The Serb had a lengthy discussion with former American legend Jim Courier right after an easy three-set win.
When asked about whether a similar injury experience mid-tournament a couple of years ago in Melbourne gave him any sort of confidence to push through the current pain, Djokovic quickly retorted by saying, “Well, look, you know, Jim, you have been through few injuries in your career so you know how that feels especially when you are playing a tournament. You don’t know what is the degree of the injury until you actually play a competitive match.”

“I have been taking a lot of pills. It’s not ideal. But, trying to mask the pain. No, not those kind of pills, guys. Anti-inflammatory pills that I normally don’t like taking.”
Well, this comment just proves how badly Novak Djokovic wants to win the whole tournament after what he experienced last year in Australia. Also, if one takes a look at the draw, it looks as if there is no real threat to the Serb who wants to claim a record tenth Australian Open crown.
