During his tennis hiatus, Nick Kyrgios has still been in the news for various reasons. Among them is his war of words with fellow players, both former and current. He had a back and forth with many top players. However, another such top player, Dominic Thiem, recently heaped praise on the Aussie star.

Kyrgios appreciated Thiem’s words of praise and further gave his views on the ‘night in Acapulco’. Thiem had also referred to a time in Acapulco when he and Kyrgios explored the nightlife there and apparently had a great time.

Thanks for the love, Dominic Thiem. That night in Mexico was naughty,” Kyrgios said of Thiem’s words.

On the tennis court, interestingly, the two men have faced each other just once the ATP Tour. It was back in 2015 during the ATP event in Nice, on clay. Thiem won that match, but as a result of Kyrgios’ withdrawal due to an injury early in the match.

While their respect for each other is high, it is newfound, to an extent. They did have a bit of a feud a few months ago when Thiem criticized Kyrgios for his comments on fellow players post the Adria Tour fiasco. Kyrgios shot back aggressively before Thiem chose to end the discussion there.

He then decided to take the high road and everything now seems good between them. Fans will be eagerly waiting to see them face each other on the court in what could be an enthralling encounter.
