WATCH: Carlos Alcaraz’s Coach Moves Heaven and Earth to Surprise Him Amid Personal Grief at Miami Open 2022

Today, the tennis world is eagerly waiting for the final of the Miami Open between Carlos Alcaraz and Casper Ruud. Both the players performed tremendously well throughout the tournament to reach the final. Also, both the players have already won a title in 2022. Earlier, Ruud won a title in Buenos Aires and Alcaraz won the title in Rio de Janeiro, on red soil. Meanwhile, before the final match, Alcaraz got a surprise that will definitely boost his confidence.

World no.16, Carlos Alcaraz managed to reach the final of the Miami Open final without his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero. Sadly, the Spanish coach had to leave Carlos’ camp after receiving bad news; his father passing away. Immediately, he returned to Spain, leaving Alcaraz on his own.

However, before the final, the Spanish coach came back to Miami to surprise the 18-year-old player. After seeing his coach back, his reaction was truly priceless. He jumped with joy and then rushed toward his coach and hugged him. It was a wholesome moment and a big boost for the Spaniard, as he’s looking for his maiden ATP 1000 title in Miami.

Notably, Ferrero and Alcaraz have been together since 2018 and their bond became really strong since then. After his win over Miomir Kecmanovic, the Spaniard wrote a beautiful message for the father of his coach on the camera lens.

Who will win the Miami Open?

Casper Ruud reached his career-high ranking (8) last year in October. Since then, he has been consistently performing on the tour, as he maintained his ranking. Carlos Alcaraz also reached his career-high no.16 ranking after a terrific performance at the Indian Wells. He reached the semi-final there but lost to Rafael Nadal in an incredible match.

However, Casper Ruud didn’t have a great tournament at Indian Wells. In the third round, he lost to Nick Kyrgios in straight sets. However, he turned it around at the Miami Open as he reached the final. 

Meanwhile, Alcaraz and Ruud only faced each other once, and the 18-year-old won that bout. In 2021, they faced each other at the Marbella Open, where the Spaniard beat the Norwegian tennis player in straight sets. However, Ruud will be hoping for a different result this time.
