Boris Becker, the veteran German tennis professional, found himself entangled with the law in April 2022. Following that, a long legal procedure brought his asset fraud to the surface. Becker, as was found guilty, received a sentence of 30 months in jail. Currently, he is serving his term in England.

Recently his estranged wife Lily sat down for an interview and spoke about why the former World No.1 has always enjoyed the love of people and will keep on doing so in the future as well.

Lilly about Becker’s charm

Lilly has supported Becker throughout his trouble with the law and is still standing by his side. Therefore, one can say that she still admires the man he is. When asked about the reason during her appearance on the show Pierce Morgan Uncensored, she said, “Well, that’s exactly it. It’s either you have to or you don’t. He has a great charisma; he is a fantastic father, a funny guy, honest.”

The sentence handed over to the German is for hiding his assets worth 2.5 million pounds and loans to evade debts. He shuffled his assets amongst Lily and Barbara, his ex-wife, and concealed his share in a tech company to fake a bankruptcy in June 2017.

Boris Becker will have to leave England

Becker has been living in England since 2012. However, he never applied for citizenship and is listed as a foreigner. Therefore, now that he has been convicted, the three-time Wimbledon champion may have to face additional consequences.

According to the home office, any foreigner who receives a sentence of a period longer than 12 months shall be deported at the earliest opportunity for public good. Hence, Becker will have to abandon his home in Britain and move back to Germany as soon as his jail term ends.
