In the recent clash at the quarterfinals of Barcelona Open, Tsitsipas got on Alcaraz’s nerves. He took a long break to change his shirt after going 3-0 down in the decider. Although he received point penalties, it didn’t quench Alcaraz’s anger. The Spaniard defeated him,6-4, 5-7, 6-2 and shared his opinion at the post match conference.
Carlos summed up Stefanos’ actions by calling them mere tactics which were put forth to break his rhythm.
Carlos Alcaraz has faced Stefanos Tsitsipas three times in the four years of his professional tennis career – twice in America and once in Spain, and came out victorious in all three encounters. The 18-year-old prodigy has defeated the world no.5 on both hard courts and clay. Further, with a clay-based Grand Slam ahead, it would be fun to see if Stefanos could bank his first victory against this young blood.
