Although not necessarily from the tennis viewpoint, two athletes have been front and center at the US Open 2021. Both Stefanos Tsitsipas and Naomi Osaka have been widely talked about, for different reasons. While Osaka generated buzz regarding mental health, Tsitsipas’ toilet breaks came under a lot of scrutiny. After his elimination from the tournament, the Greek star has now spoken about self-emphasis.
Both Osaka and Tsitsipas faced adversities that were contrasting, yet similar. Opting to take the tough path, they were subjected to criticism. While Osaka decided not to talk to the press and later revealed her difficulties on tour, Stefanos turned a deaf ear to the stigma surrounding his toilet breaks. Now, the World No.3 has revealed his thoughts after the US Open.

Stefanos Tsitsipas addresses personal well-being, like Naomi Osaka
There is no doubt that the criticism he faced at Flushing Meadows may have taken a toll on Tsitsipas. The 3rd seed admitted that due to his excessive sweating, he has to take breaks to change his clothes. Patrick Mouratoglou also revealed not too long ago that Tsitsipas did in fact learn about the breaks from Novak Djokovic. However, this action of his was widely criticized in the tennis fraternity. Taking to social media, the Roland Garros finalist finally broke his silence regarding the scenario. He spoke about mental well-being and emphasizing on oneself.
