Video: Rafael Nadal and Iga Swiatek Hit Back-To-Back Tweeners Against Coco Gauff and John McEnroe at Us Open 2022 Exhibition

Rafael Nadal and Iga Swiatek were dominating the game when both players put on a tweener clinic against Coco Gauff and John McEnroe. They led a star-studded exhibition event for Ukrainian relief efforts at the US Open.

Some of the world’s best tennis players took part in the Tennis Plays for Peace exhibition match ahead of the upcoming US Open 2022.

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) organized the Ukraine charity event. They wanted to raise awareness and humanitarian relief for people impacted by the Russia-Ukraine war. On August 29, the final grand slam tournament of the year begins with the main round.

At Flushing Meadows, Iga Swiatek got the opportunity to play with her idol, Rafael Nadal. The duo put on an entrainment show for the crowd.

Rafael Nadal, ranked third in the world, and Iga Swiatek, the top-ranked female Tennis player, impressed the audience with some spectacular shots. Both players pulled off tweeners during one rally to win points.

Gauff saidBeing on the court with John, Rafa and Iga, World No. 1, it’s really crazy here in New York,” “I’m happy that I’m able to do it for this cause and you guys all know me, I like to speak out when it’s right. I’m glad that I was able to be a part of this.” He added.

At the Tennis Plays for Peace exhibition, WTA players like Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Leylah Fernandez, Maria Sakkari, Dayana Yastremska, Katarina Zavatska, and Daria Snigur participated in the charity event. Along them were ATP players like Rafael Nadal, Matteo Berrettini, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Carlos Alcaraz

Italy’s Matteo Berrettini and Ukraine’s Katarina Zavatska competed against Maria Sakkari and Stefanos Tsitsipas. Tsitsipas promised to donate $10,000 to the cause only if his partner hit an ace, which she did.

Global Giving’s Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund will receive all of the event’s proceeds. The USTA also stated that it hoped to raise at least $2 million for the cause.
