WATCH: Danushka Gunathilaka Hits Billy Stanlake for a Huge Six

While opening the innings for Sri Lanka with Kusal Mendis (1), Danushka Gunathilaka played a quickfire knock of 21 off 22 before getting dismissed. His knock included a couple of  impressive shots – two fours and a six. However, the bowler had the last laugh.

A good length delivery from Stanlake saw the batsman’s dismissal as the ball clipped the bail of the off-stump. However, Sri Lanka had  pretty bad show with the batas they managed toput up only 117 before bundled out within 19 overs. Kusal Perera top-scored with 27 off 19.

It was Sri Lanka captain Lasith Malinga who chose to bat first after having won the toss. They have a few change in the line up as they included Avishka Fernado, Niroshan Dickwella and Isuru Udana in place of Oshada Fernando, Minod Bhanuka and Kasun Rajitha. Meanwhile, Australia had only one change to their Playing XI. Stanlake replaced the fast bowler Mitchell Starc.

Earlier, Australia had won the first T20I by a huge 134 runs against Sri Lanka. As far as the second innings is concerned, Australia lost their captain as well as opener Aaron Finch. It was his counterpart Lasith Malinga who drew the first blood. Although it wasn’t a good delivery from Malinga as it was a full delivery down the leg side.

Finch tried to play straight of the bat towards the left of the keeper but Kusal Perera dived across to take a stunner and sent Finch on a golden duck. Currently David Warner and Steve Smith are in the middle.
