There has a lot of uncertainty surrounding the Australian Open 2021. The main reason for this has been the COVID-19 which still continues to hamper our functionality. The threat posed by the virus is life-threatening. Due to this, organizers have been skeptical about issues encompassing it.
Finally, after a number of discussions amongst authorities, Tennis Australia has been given the green signal to commence this year’s Australian Open from the 1st of February onwards. Having said that, there will be a number of protocols players and their teams would have to follow.
Australian Open: Qualifying Rounds in a Different Nation?

Recently, there were discussions of holding the qualifying rounds outside Australia in another country. Places like Dubai, Doha, or Singapore are options. Considering these venues have already resumed activity to a certain extent, these cities could be a choice. After the qualifying rounds are done, players won will then board the flight to Melbourne.
The Australian Government has made it mandatory for any individual entering the country to undergo a quarantine period for a minimum of 14-days. Players will then assemble and continue living in the bubble. Following these norms would certainly be beneficial to the players. Any possible threat from the virus can be avoided if these rules are followed.
