“Bachhe ab bacche nahi rahe”-is the tagline of a recent commercial ad that has gone viral over the net and why not? Bangladesh have turned the tables around over an year to show that they are not just another associate nation.Here’s a look at their performance over an year.

Low scoring match against India:

Bangladesh was involved in one of the most thrilling ODI games against India. Despite ending on losing side they managed to send waves of fear in the indian camp. They dismissed India for 104 but were themselves out for 58. Stuart Binny made the record for best bowling figures in an ODI by an Indian bowler.

West Indies hammer Bangladesh:

Bangladesh were humiliated 3-0 in the ODI series against the West Indies in the Carribean extending their win less run to 13.

Bangladesh are whitewashed again in the test series at the hand of West Indies and thus extending their miserable run on the tour.

Victory against Zimbabwe:

Finally Bangladesh taste victory as they defeat Zimbabwe 3-0 in test series at home and thus reach the 9th spot in the ICC Test Rankings. Bangladesh carry on the winning momentum and defeat Zimbabwe in ODIs as well handsomely by 5-0.

Shakib Al Hasan becomes No.1 ranked all rounder

Shakib continued his rise as not only one of the best all rounders in Asia but all over the world. His aggressive batting coupled by the slow left arm orthodox has made him a huge weapon in Bangladesh’s armory.

Create World Cup History: Reach Quarter Finals

Bangladesh defeated a struggling England side by 15 runs at Adelaide Oval to knock them out and reach the quarter finals of the World Cup. They then fought hard against co-hosts New Zealand but lost in the last over. Defending Champions India too, didn’t get it too easy in the quarter finals. Mahumadullah scored back to back centuries against England and New Zealand.

The No Ball that wasn’t:

Rohit Sharma got a huge reprieve while batting on 91 against Bangladesh in the quarter final. He hit a full toss straight into the hands of the fielder at mid-wicket, but the leg umpire called it a no ball for height. Bangladesh were unfortunate as Rohit went on to score 138 and take India past 300.

Bangladesh stun a toothless Pakistan 3-0 in the three match ODI series held in Bangladesh and make it tougher for Pakistan to qualify for the Champions Trophy to be held in 2017 in England.
