Howard recently revealed that someone tipped him off over the NBA’s snitch hotline for not wearing a mask. He wasn’t particularly happy about being the complaint against him saying people were making a “big deal” out of it.

“I just thought it was pointless for someone to tell I didn’t have a mask on by myself,” Howard told reporters Saturday. “I don’t even know when it happened.

“Everybody is making a big deal out of it, but I feel like we are in the safest place in Orlando. We get tested every day. If we are only around each other, we get tested every day, we can’t practice with masks on, I personally don’t see a risk of us getting it during the time period we are here.”

During his Sunday’s Instagram session, he further talked about masks. He felt there was no need to wear masks if he was alone.

Howard had his part to play during his second stint with the Lakers. He had previously played for the Lakers in the 2012/13 season. He joined the Lakers after having played eight years for Orlando Magic and having just won three consecutive Defensive Player of the Year awards. At the age of 34, Howard is once again playing for the Lakers. Although he has not been a regular starter, Howard has made important contributions to the team coming off the bench. He has averaged 7.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game this season.

Howard will have to make more contributions as the Lakers look set to have a deep postseason. They have been one of the best teams this season with the likes of LeBron James and Anthony Davis leading them. As they restart their season inside the Orlando bubble, the Lakers will be aiming for their 17th NBA title.
