‘Was Talking Crazy’: PJ Tucker Reveals His Trash-Talking Incident With Kevin Durant’s Mom

Kevin Durant and PJ Tucker are alumni of the same college in Texas. Tucker was drafted in the year (2006), and in the same year, Kevin Durant became the freshman at the University of Texas. However, since joining the NBA, the duo has faced each other on several big occasions. In fact, Tucker and Durant faced each other in the conference semis last season.
When Durant was with the Warriors, Tucker couldn’t get the better of him as the Rockets faced the Warriors several times in the postseason. However, Tucker got the better of Durant last season as the Bucks brushed past the Nets in the playoffs. In fact, Tucker went on to win the first championship of his career.
However, during game 7 of the Nets vs Bucks last season, Tucker was involved in a famous trash-talking incident with Durant’s mom Wanda Durant. But no one could decipher what Tucker really said to Wanda. However, Tucker has recently revealed the conversation he had with Wanda.

PJ Tucker reveals what he said to Kevin Durant’s mom during Nets vs Bucks game 7
PJ Tucker recently appeared in an interview on JJ Redick’s YouTube channel. During the interview, he revealed what exactly did he say to Kevin Durant’s mom during game 7 of Nets vs Bucks.
“So, I was talking crazy, and she was like I was in him (Durant),” Tucker told JJ Redick.

“I got him a few times like real, like some tough hits. She was like he’s not playing basketball; he playing football. He out there tackling them. Somebody’s shooting the freak, though. She’s going at me and I hear her. Ya’ll stand there and I turn around. I said ‘I love you mom’ and she right in stride, she says ‘I love you too’. I can’t believe TNT caught it. They really caught it. It was crazy how they caught it and the timing of it, but it was that was for sure my moment of the playoffs.”
It was both a heated and hilarious exchange between Tucker and Wanda at the same time. Tucker and Durant were engaged in a serious duel throughout the series. But Durant got the better of Tucker in game 7 and scored 48 points. However, it wasn’t enough as the Nets crashed out of the series by losing 115–111 in overtime. But Durant’s 48 points became the most in a game 7 in NBA postseason history.

Tucker was crucial for the Bucks as he started 19 of the 23 games he played in the playoffs. In fact, before the playoffs, he started on just one occasion. And he was a fan favorite in Milwaukee despite not being a regular starter initially.
