While the Bulls overcame their dominant play focusing around Jordan, the rivalry seems to have remained intact. Remarks and comments have been exchanged throughout the years, making it clear that Jordan might not be ready to let go.

Having said that, Detroit Pistons’ retired icon Isiah Thomas, and Jordan, still seem to harbor some discomfort with each other.

A short clip shared online captures both legends at the NBA All-Star weekend, probably just going on doing their own thing. However, according to some comments, they might have been avoiding each other altogether. In the short video uploaded, Thomas speaks with Magic Johnson for some time, before moving away. While Jordan and Johnson follow him to the front, the former makes no move to talk to Thomas.

Of course, while it could have been how it played out, most fans looked at the incident as awkward. That being said, fans did add that the two are not friends, and one should just let it be. When did the Jordan-Thomas rivalry actually begin?

Dating back to the All-Star game in 1985, their rivalry seems to have solidified at the 1991 Eastern Conference finals. Thomas and his team left the court without shaking hands with the Bulls, which did not translate well with Jordan, the team, or the fans.

Though Thomas did defend his team, it seemed like the damage was done. In the end, Thomas, one of the league’s best point guards, was left out of the 1992 Olympics’ Dream Team. All rumors pointed towards Jordan and Scottie Pippen, who did not want to play with Thomas.

Now, while the rivalry was dormant for a few years, Jordan in his docu-series The Last Dance made sure to emphasize his hatred for the 90s Pistons.

“I hated them,” Jordan said. “That hate carries to this day.”

As per Jordan, the Pistons were the ones who made it personal.
