The NBA sneaker market is certainly a humungous one. Brands like Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour, create spectacular designs that sell wildly among fans, earning them huge profits. Certain players have their signature design with sneaker brands, and Steph Curry is one of them.

Curry signed with Under Armour after a failed negotiation with Nike back in 2013. This made UA to establish its brand in the sneaker market as Curry rose to become one of the best in the business. Nike’s loss became UA’s gain.

Steph got his first signature shoe with Under Armour in 2015, the ‘Curry One.’ A beautiful Warriors schemed colorway gave birth to the first of many signature designs that Curry has been sporting in the NBA

As per ESPN, there are only sixteen athletes in the NBA who have their own signature shoe with a sneaker brand. And Curry recently welcomed the latest player to get his own pair of designs, Joel Embiid.

Under Armour announced in January 2020 that Sixers star Joel Embiid will be getting his own line of sneakers later in the year. Now, in a game where the 76ers took on the Orlando Magic in the bubble, we could see Embiid debuting his impressive pair of signature sneakers.

Embiid signed with Under Armour in 2018 and now has one signature design to his name. Officially dubbed the “Embiid 1 Origin”, the sneaker sports a mesh black primary color, supported by a vibrant orange splash and comes up from the heel.

To commemorate Embiid’s new signature shoe, Steph Curry recorded a hilarious welcoming video. The 6’3” point guard took to the court and impersonated Emiid’s playing style in the clip. By making a layup, Curry then pulled off a celebration close to how Embiid does it.

Embiid is also reported to be the only center in the league with a signature sneaker design. That is certainly a point in his favor. Moreover, he now has the important task of leading the Philadelphia 76ers without the support of Ben Simmons.
