Former South Africa cricketer AB de Villiers has been in the news for quite some times now. Earlier he wanted to return in the national team for the upcoming T20 World Cup, now he shared his desire to play for Brisbane Heat in the next Big Bash League.

The Brisbane Heat’s Big Bash League season 09 has come to an end with a defeat to Melbourne Renegades, which ended their hopes of reaching to the eliminators. The batting legend joined the team in the mid-way and did pretty well with the bat.

He smashed a match-winning 37-ball 71 against table-toppers Melbourne Stars to keep their hope alive. However, his effort went in vain as they failed to win the game. He has played 6 matches and scored 146 runs at an average of 24.33 with the best score of 71 with a strike rate of 140.38.  He made his debut in Big Bash League and he wanted to return in the next season as well.

“Let’s hope so, it’s quite a long way away still but I would love to come back. I had really a lot of fun with Chris and (coach) Darren (Lehmann) and the boys. They looked after me like I was one of their own. We played some really poor cricket … myself to blame in a way. We were a little bit lackadaisical with our batting effort. Just a little bit of intensity, just a bit of experience (is required) – hopefully, I can be that guy,” he said.

On the other hand,  Brisbane Heat captain Chris Lynn also praised de Villiers effort and wanted to see him in the team as well. However, he has left that job on the management. He further hoped that the former South African great will come back strongly and in the next year of the league.
