MMA Community Witnesses Tragic Loss- Fighter Shot Dead Outside His House

The MMA community has witnessed a tragic loss after Bellator fighter Isaiah Chapman was found dead on Tuesday night outside his home in Akron, Ohio. Chapman was rising through the ranks in Bellator before this unfortunate incident put a stop to his career.

‘MMA community witnesses yet another tragic loss’

Akron Beacon Journal reported, officers responded to a call after shots were heard  at 9:40 pm local time. When the police arrived, they found a man in the street with several gunshot wounds. He was then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Sources close to Chapman confirmed it was that the fighter was the victim of the shooting. Chapman’s family shared the news of his death on social media earlier today, with several members of the MMA community paying their respects. Bellator matchmaker Rick Chou paid tribute to Chapman and his family on twitter earlier today.

Despite, confirmation from his family the medical examiners are yet to identify Chapman. The suspect of the killing is yet to be found and remains at large as of now.

According to his profile, ‘The Beast’ was a professional fighter since 2012 and had amassed a record of (9-4). The fighter was last seen in action at Bellator 232, where he lost to Patchy Mix via submission in a bantamweight bout.

The reasons behind the shooting haven’t be confirmed, with several questions unanswered regarding his death. Chapman was a proud father of 3 and leaves behind his 2 daughters and a son.

This is indeed a tragic incident for the family and the MMA community. A go fund me page has been set up to help with the family with the funeral proceedings.
