In Beijing, the Canadian tennis sensation, Bianca Andreescu triumphed over Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the opening round of China Open 2019 and simultaneously reserved her a spot in the WTA Tour Finals.

After her win on Monday, Andreescu spoke about the power of meditation. “I don’t want to sound like cocky or anything, but I kind of forgot how it feels to lose, which I think is a good thing. When I meditate, I always make sure to feel the feeling of myself winning. It’s good that I forgot the other feeling,” Bianca Andreescu said.

Andreescu pulled off the Indian Wells 2019 title this year (as a wild card entrant), she shared about her morning habits which inculcate meditation and visualization. Those practices have ingrained a winning mindset within herself.

“I wake up every morning and the first thing I do is I meditate. I think it really helps me get a good jump-start to the day. I take 15 minutes every morning just to get in tune with my body, my mind. I visualize myself having a good day, like, stuff like that,” she mentioned after her victory in California this year.

Her morning practices have honed the mental aspect of the game and she firmly believes that “the mental part is the most important because it controls your whole body.”

The power of meditation and visualization has vividly reflected in Andreescu’s case. Last year, she did not qualify of the US Open’s main draw, and this year she turned out to be the champion and simultaneously rose to a career-high ranking of World Number five.
