“A Lot of Unanswered Questions”: Ryan Garcia Issues a Statement Following Teofimo Lopez’s Win

WBC silver lightweight champion Ryan Garcia wants a crack at the new unified lightweight titlist, Teofimo Lopez, after the latter’s sensational victory over Vasyl Lomachenko on October 17.

Although Ryan Garcia will fight for the WBC interim title against Luke Campbell on December 5, he has already envisioned a faceoff with Lopez down the line. It is no surprise that the ‘Takeover’ has grabbed a lot of attention with his recent win, and he is the new undisputed king of the division.

That said, it opens up the way for several alluring matchups. In boxing, the lightweight division is one of the deepest units. Thus, fight fans can expect a matchup between ‘King’ Garcia and ‘Takeover’ Lopez soon.

When Lopez and Lomachenko were putting on a show inside the ring, Garcia turned to social media and gave his opinion over the fight.

After the fight, Garcia claimed that the lightweight division still has a lot of unanswered questions. Both Garcia and Lopez are undefeated and have become world champions now. Hence, a fight between them makes sense.

“I got my fight against Luke Campbell, but I would love to fight [Teofimo] Lopez. There [are] still a lot of unanswered questions in this lightweight division,” Gracia wrote on his Twitter.

Apart from being the undefeated champions, Garcia and Lopez are also the young superstars of the sport. They are just 22 and 23 years old respectively and have already achieved greatness in the sport.  The knockout specialists have done enough to be compared to each other.

Meanwhile, they need to continue the dominance and retain the belts to intensify a matchup ahead. Ryan Garcia will appear against Luke Campbell on December 5 in another lightweight thriller for the fans.
