Amir Khan Reveals the Real Reason Why He Didn’t Face Kell Brook

Amir Khan is one of the top-notch talents present in the modern-day boxing era. In his substantial career, Khan hooked in millions of fans with his sublime in-ring performances. But over the past couple of years, he has neither fought nor has he stayed in the limelight. In fact, he was in talks to face his compatriot, Kell Brook, in a full-fledged boxing war.
However, this contest too failed to materialize and Khan’s return to the ring got pushed. In a fresh conversation on the Last Stand Podcast, the Brit revealed the real reason his fight against Brook fell through.
He said, “I was making more money in USA… When someone’s gonna talk so much trash, you’re gonna try to teach them a lesson. The way I thought would hurt him would be by not fighting him.” (h/t Michael Benson)

The last time ‘King Khan’ made an appearance in the squared circle was back in 2019. In that match, he fought Billy Dib for the vacant WBC international welterweight title and even emerged victorious in that contest. Post that, his fans were keen to see him trace his pathway to a world title shot.
But to everyone’s surprise, Khan took a long layoff and didn’t give a thought about coming back.
‘King Khan’ still has that fire in him and fans will be keen to see if he can return as the same force he was in 2019 and before that.

For now, the British boxer’s boxing record stands at 34 wins with 5 losses. In his cracking boxing stint, ‘King Khan’ has gone all out against the most rugged boxers of this era, and has even stayed on the winning vertical against them.
