Unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua appears to be the fan-favorite in his upcoming challenge against Kubrat Pulev on December 12.

After almost a year of his re-match against Andy Ruiz Jr, Joshua will enter the ring against a looming prodigy in ‘The Cobra’. That said, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum is billing Pulev as the favorite over Joshua.

Arum claims Pulev is in great shape and is someone who can box. So, not only does he see the Bulgarian beating Joshua, but he further believes it will be a knockout.

Well, if Anthony Joshua loses, it will shatter the upcoming heavyweight plans of a title unification fight against Tyson Fury. Thus, Pulev might be gearing up to unload another upset in heavyweight boxing; Bob Arum wants that to happen.

The 88-year-old connected with Marc Gatford (via Betway) to share his opinion on the nearing heavyweight thriller. As Arum touched on Joshua’s fight against Ruiz Jr., he also revealed the reason for favoring Pulev.

The Top Rank CEO said, “It’s one thing to box and run around the ring, making out you are second coming of Muhammad Ali when you are fighting a fat, obese Andy Ruiz- but it’s going to be a different story when you are fighting a fit and ready Pulev, who is on great shape and a good boxer.”

Anthony Joshua has undergone a good training camp before his title defense. While he already knows the price of belittling his underdog opponent, he might not repeat the same against Pulev.

The heavyweight champion has all the chances of winning and he will seemingly trouble his Bulgarian adversary on the fight night. Since both the heavyweights are A-listed, it further guarantees fireworks. However, the man to the land the bigger punches and remain composed throughout will win the bout. What do you think of the AJ-Pulev matchup?
