Ever since his loss to Teofimo Lopez, Vasyl Lomachenko has gone all out against the points scoring system in boxing. The Ukrainian boxer received his second career loss and has cited poor judging coupled with a shoulder injury for the same.

In a chat with SnowQueenLA, ‘Loma’ has raised concerns on Compubox, a computerized punch scoring system that is used frequently by broadcasters and analysts for boxing matches. It is one highly effective scoring system where two human operators tally the punches for a single boxer.

‘Loma’ said, “I looked at CompuBox statistics. I really don’t understand how that works, My father counted every punch that landed on me, it totaled only 150. But CompuBox shows 180. I really question how they count punches.”

As per CompuBox, Teofimo Lopez landed 183 punches out of which 148 were significant strikes, whereas the Ukrainian boxer landed 141 punches of which just 78 were power punches.

The above statement from Vasyl Lomachenko caught one of CompuBox’s operator’s eye, and he trashed the 32-year-old for his remarks.

Canobbio affirmed that Lomachenko lost this fight fairly. He even advised ‘Loma’ to go back at the super-featherweight division where he competed previously.

Can Vasyl Lomachenko get a rematch with Teofimo Lopez?

‘Loma’ has expressed his keen interest in stepping inside the ring with Lopez for the second time. However, there was no rematch clause in their previous contract. ‘The Takeover’ dominated the fight and hasn’t offered ‘Loma’ a rematch.

But, ‘Loma’ has cemented his plans to stay at the lightweight division. He believes a rematch with ‘The Takeover’ might not be on the cards at the moment. However, he is hopeful of touching gloves with him soon.

Lomachenko didn’t fare too well in the first fight, but he will have to dig deep in if he collides with Lopez again. Predominantly, ‘Loma’ will have to gain a couple of wins to be aligned for a rematch with the champion.

What do you make of the CompuBox operator’s remarks on Vasyl Lomachenko?
