As Tyson Fury prepares for one of the biggest fights in boxing history, his recent announcement of a social media blackout may seem like an odd move in today’s digital age. After all, social media has become a crucial tool for athletes to connect with fans and promote their fights and brand. But Fury is never one to shy away from unconventional methods and has once again surprised everyone with his decision.

Fury’s recent decision has to do with the possible upcoming fight with Usyk. Although negotiations for the fight are still going on, The ‘Gypsy King’ feels confident that he will be facing ‘The Cat’ in the ring next month.

Fury’s decision to take a break from social media is a strategic move to eliminate any distractions that could affect his preparation for the upcoming fight. According to sources close to Fury, the boxer wants to focus solely on his training in the lead-up to the fight, which according to him is the biggest fight in the history of boxing.

In a video posted on his social media accounts, Fury said, “Hi guys, as fun as it’s been over the last few days terrorizing Usyk and his team, tomorrow I’m gonna knuckle down into training camp and I’ll be doing a blackout as I always do on social media. April 29 is definitely a worker, I will see you all on the night. Tune in, or be there or be square.”

“This is the biggest fight in British boxing history, the fight of the century,” said Fury. “Two undefeated world heavyweight champions throwing down to see who is the No 1 in the division – the undisputed heavyweight championship on the line. Peace out, good training to Usyk… let the best man win.”

Will the Usyk-Fury fight even take place?

Fury’s announcement has garnered mixed reactions from enthusiasts and experts alike. Some feel that it’s a strategic move, while others argue that it could be a way to escape Usyk’s taunts. However, Fury has been adamant that this is not the case and that he wants to give his best shot at winning the title. In fact, he has done this before in the lead-up to his fights, when he defended his title against Dillian Whyte. He believes it allows him to concentrate fully on his training and preparation.

However, Oleksandr Usyk’s manager is on the verge of giving up on the fight. The teams of both the fighters have been locked in negotiations for a few weeks and the fate of the fight will be decided this week, Usyk’s manager said.

“I would say it’s more probable not to happen, rather than to happen. This week is the deadline. [Tuesday] we would expect to get the draft agreement somehow,” said Usyk’s manager to IFLTV.

Meanwhile, Fury’s promoter Frank Warren has given assurances that the fight will take place. He even revealed the potential date and venue of the fight.

The upcoming match-up between Fury and Usyk is an eagerly awaited occasion, featuring two unbeaten world heavyweight champions vying for supremacy in their division.
