The wise use of five pebbles helped David in felling Goliath. While history followed its course, the legend has lent a cognizable voice to every underdog who came after. Floyd Mayweather meeting Deji is a torchbearer to that biblical narrative.

This time, though, very much on predictable lines, Goliath had the last laugh. Deji, for all his bravado, went through Floyd‘s toying austerely. The latter danced, winced, and when he had his full went for the coup de grâce in the sixth round. Probably Deji had a premonition about the outcome.
He deserves a big pat on the back to have survived even a single round. However, Deji went beyond that. Something probably he and many fans will never forget for a long time. Sometime before referee Kenny Bayless raised his hands to stop, a straight right from Deji found its mark on The Money’s face.

Not everyone missed the swelling below Floyd’s left eye during the post-fight press conference. But, ever gracious, Floyd played it down, “That’s cool, we had fun tonight. You guys wanted to see a little something. I had to close the gap and when you close the gap that happens.”
The stop-gap incident has become a favorite of trolls. A fan shared Floyd’s Instagram pics. In both, he stares over his left. Probably the hunter was waiting for the prey to take the bait. The pics and the caption couldn’t escape Deji’s attention; he couldn’t control himself from laughing out loud.

It is the fifth exhibition match for Floyd’s post-retirement. Reportedly he intends to fight MMA legend and former UFC champion Conor McGregor next year. For the records, the fight with The Notorious was the last professional bout of Floyd’s career.
Deji is proud to have gone the distance against arguably the greatest boxer of the last three decades. Post-fight he mentioned Justin Bieber’s name along with a few others against whom he is willing to fight, “I’ wouldn’t mind fighting Justin Bieber, Liam Payne, anyone who wants it really, I’m on all the smoke.”
