Deontay Wilder parted ways with his trainer Mark Breland after suffering a humiliating loss against Tyson Fury in February 2020. Following it, Wilder blamed Breland for spiking his water and throwing the towel early. He even accused Breland of being a ‘double agent’ with Fury’s side.

However, many protested against those claims including Mark Breland, and criticized Wilder for doubting his own team. However, Deontay Wilder is still adamant with his beliefs as he recently opened up afresh about his relationship with Breland.

Speaking with 78 Sorts TV, Wilder said. “It’s crazy bro, it’s crazy. Because I had this man (Mark Breland) around me for so long. You know, I am staying around my family, my kids. I fed this dude, you know I mean even when many people thought I outgrew him. Many, many wanted me to fire him, but I kept him on board.”

But, ‘The Bronze Bomber had to take the step after the first loss of his professional career. He claimed to have provided a job for Breland while nothing was there around him. Not only that, but he also talked about Breland’s medical complications, and how he kept supporting him.

The firmer WBC title-holder added, “It’s like I don’t want to feel you, bro, I don’t want to keep you around. You should have been going a long time ago. But because of the love that I had, to continue to give you a job and all that even after the fact of all his medical issues that he has personally going on within himself. I still kept him around and for him to betray me.”

Deontay Wilder had his worst fight night against Tyson Fury in their rematch. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ couldn’t infuse much action and remained on the wrong end of a one-sided beat down. Fury dropped him several times in the fight and dominated the scorecards.

In the seventh round, ‘The Gypsy King’ overwhelmed Wilder with umpteen shots and Breland threw in the towel to stop the fight. While Fury won the WBC belt, Wilder confronted his cornermen right away and protested their action. Nevertheless, he lost the fight and is yet to announce a comeback.
