On May 7th inside the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Dmitry Bivol, in an overwhelming performance, surprised half the world as he stopped the 4-division world champion Canelo Alvarez in boxing. It has hardly been a month and there is already a talk about a possible rematch between the two. While it is yet to be clear when exactly a rematch between Bivol and Alvarez will happen, there is already a date scheduled for Golovkin vs. Alvarez III.

As Alvarez prepares for his highly anticipated third fight against Golovkin, Dmitry Bivol opens up about his own desires in the business. In a recent interview, on being asked about a rematch with Alvarez, the following is what the WBA light-heavyweight champion told:

“I’d love to rematch Canelo for a bigger paycheck.” 

Well, as it seems, Bivol is still eager to fight Alvarez. However, he just may have certain conditions of his own.

Last month, in one of the biggest upsets of contemporary boxing, Dmitry Bivol defeated Canelo Alvarez. The fight went the whole distance, and Bivol, having outclassed the Mexican boxer, won the match by decision.

After his win against Alvarez, Bivol spoke of his desire to box the Mexican phenom in a second fight in the latter’s division with Alvarez’s four belts at stake. Now, during a recent interview, Bivol more or less reiterated the same conditions under which he can preferably see a rematch take place soon.

“Well, I’d like to benefit from the rematch and prefer the unification bout. But I’ll take the rematch as well,” he told.

Looks like Bivol is not giving up on his dreams to fight Alvarez in a unification bout after Alvarez just fought the former for his light-heavyweight title.

If not Alvarez, what other fights would Bivol like himself to take part in?

As per what the Russian disclosed, he is not much interested in fighting Golovkin. With GGG, he lacks a concrete reason. However, when asked whether he would like to fight the winner of Beterbiev vs. Smith, this is what he had to say:

“I’d love that the most. I got what I wanted from the Canelo fight. I got the attention and now I want to get more belts. But I’m not sure if I can make it since Canelo may still demand the rematch.”

As it seems, Bivol has an opponent other than Alvarez to think about. However, since there is this lingering uncertainty concerning the time and circumstances of the second fight with Canelo, he doesn’t seem sure about whom he shall plan for at this present hour.
