The Billionaire pugilist, who has made the right moves at the right points of his career, has found immense success inside and outside the ring.

However, he has never run away from any adversary. Boasting a perfect record of 50-0, Mayweather has faced 16 world champions and has outboxed all of them. While many fans now ridicule him for facing YouTubers and MMA fighters in exhibitions, Mayweather, who dominated the sport thoroughly in his prime, has earned the liberty to cherry-pick his opponents at this stage.

Following a successful debut in 1996, Mayweather climbed the ladder pretty fast and bagged a featherweight title shot against Genaro Hernandez in 1998. ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd won the WBC super featherweight belt by stopping Hernandez in round 8.

Mayweather then competed in eight WBC super featherweight title fights and won them all. 27-0 as a pro, he made his lightweight debut in 2002 and conquered a new weight class.

‘Money Show’ and the WBC lightweight, WBC super lightweight belts

Floyd Mayweather fought Joe Louis Castillo back-to-back in 2002 to win and defend the WBC lightweight belts. Ending the rivalry with a 29-0 record, Mayweather defended the title twice before vacating it for a new target.

The undefeated boxer then went for non-title bouts before vanquishing Arturo Gatti via RTD for the WBC super lightweight strap in 2005.

The Las Vegas native has had one of his best runs in the 147 lbs division. While he remained unbeaten, Floyd Mayweather also became the cash cow of the sport. He departed from Bob Arum‘s Top Rank in 2006. ‘Money’ did this to promote his own fights and keep the royalties for himself.

From 2006 to 2011, Floyd Mayweather won the IBF, IBO, and the WBC welterweight championship. Not only that, but he overpowered elites like Ricky Hatton, Zab Judah, Victor Ortiz, Juan Manuel Marquez, and Shane Mosley during the time. In between, he also jumped up to beat Oscar De La Hoya for the WBC super welterweight belt in 2007.

Floyd Mayweather, who faced the biggest names, unleashed the biggest PPVs during his time in the super welterweight division. The titles he won in the weight class are WBC, WBA (super), WBC (diamond).

After defeating De La Hoya for the WBC super welterweight belt in 2007, Mayweather returned to 154 lbs against Miguel Cotto in 2012 and won the WBA (super) and WBC (diamond) belts. Subsequently, he returned to the 147 lbs and beat Robert Guerrero to win back his WBC title.

Nevertheless, Mayweather shifted to 154 lbs once again and beat Canelo Alvarez in 2013. With this win, he claimed the WBC and WBA (super) straps.
