Floyd Mayweather Uses Only 3 Words to Sum Up Canelo Alvarez’s Defeat as Boxing World Hails Dmitry Bivol

The boxing world bore witness to one of the biggest upsets of the year as the four-division champion, Canelo Alvarez, lost against Dmitry Bivol. The latter put on a boxing masterclass as he outboxed Alvarez and retained his WBA light heavyweight championship. Bivol’s incredible win wasn’t the only win of the night. The only other man to beat Alvarez, Floyd Mayweather, also won big on the night.

The undefeated boxing legend took to his Instagram to boast about his winnings following Alvarez’s loss to Bivol.

A loss for Canelo Alvarez is a win for Floyd Mayweather

Mayweather and Alvarez have a history where the former takes the victory while the latter succumbs to defeat. The five-division champion is never short of winning, as he won himself a fortune at the expense of Canelo Alvarez.

Mayweather posted on his Instagram, showing he won a whopping $52,500 as he predicted that Dmitry Bivol will win against Canelo Alvarez. Consequently, the five-division champion mocked Alvarez by calling his win, “Easy pick up.” Mayweather was proven right, and that won him thousands of dollars.

Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez put up a spectacle in September 2013 as the young Mexican faced the experienced boxing icon. The fight took place at the famed MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. Interestingly, this fight was billed as ‘The One’.

The five-division champion displayed a clinical performance as he defeated Alvarez via decision for the light-middleweight championship. Since then, Mayweather was the only fighter to have defeated Alvarez. That is, however, till the Mexican’s fate met with the Russian Dmitry Bivol.
