Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. has made a lot of money in and out of boxing. The former five-division champion is currently the richest boxer in the world despite retiring from professional boxing back in 2017. However, he still competes in exhibition bouts that have added a considerable amount to his already generational wealth. In addition, ‘Money’ is set to make his debut in the UK for his upcoming exhibition bout against former reality show star Aaron Chalmers.
The fight will take place on February 25 in the O2 Arena in London in front of a jam-packed crowd waiting to see ‘the best ever’ in action. Although Chalmers was not the first choice to compete against Mayweather, he came in as a last-minute replacement after the initial opponent Liam Harrison pulled out of the fight. Moreover, this could be the biggest payday of Chalmers’ young boxing career as he looks to make a name for himself in the sport. So, let us take a look at how much each fighter will take home from this exhibition.

The fight purses for this exhibition bout have not yet been disclosed. However, we can speculate how much each fighter could make based on their previous bouts. According to SportsPedia, Mayweather earned a guaranteed purse of $10 million with an 80% PPV share in his exhibition bout against Deji. Deji on the other hand earned a guaranteed purse of $1.5 million and had a 20% PPV share. In his prior exhibition bout against Mikuru Asakura, Mayweather took home a whopping $22 million, and an 85% PPV share, from which he received around $1.2 million.
It is safe to say that Mayweather will be earning upwards of $10 million from this bout. Chalmers on the other hand will be taking home considerably less than the former champion but is still likely to earn over a million dollars. Moreover, with the PPV being priced so high it could either add to their purses or turn out to be a bad decision.

While Mayweather does bring a whole bunch of audiences to his matches, this price might not be justified for the bout. Moreover, the 45-year-old is far from the boxer he once was. Despite this, if there is one man capable of justifying this high PPV price it is certainly ‘TBE’. What did you think about the expected fighter purses for this exhibition?
