Gervonta Davis, better known as “Tank,” is an exciting young boxer in the present era of boxing. He has a flawless record of 28-0 and is also the current WBA lightweight champion. Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia are anticipated to enter the ring and settle their differences on April 22. This has become a long-awaited event but finally, the fight was finalized after being on the cusp of getting scrapped so many times.
But there aren’t many excuses left on either side and now the world will get to see the fighters against each other. In a press conference after Davis’ face-off against Garcia, Gervonta expressed his gratitude to Canelo Alvarez for choosing him over Garcia. Gervonta was happy about Canelo being so supportive.

During a recent interview, Gervonta Davis expressed his gratitude towards Canelo Alvarez for supporting him against Ryan Garcia. When asked about having Canelo on his side, Tank exclaimed, “Canelo’s my boy.” He also showed his appreciation towards the Mexican fans for giving him so much support.

He stated, “Yeah, I appreciate it, man.” When questioned about the possibility of being in ‘No Boxing No Life’ in this fight. Davis responded a bit indecisively and said, “Uh, I don’t know. Never know.”
It’s clear that Davis values the support he has been receiving, especially from Canelo, and is ready to give his all in the ring.
Garcia shares his opinion on the rehydration clause
Ryan Garcia has disclosed that there is a rehydration clause in his contract for his upcoming bout with Gervonta Davis. The clause stipulates that Garcia cannot weigh more than 146 pounds when he enters the ring for his 12-round fight versus Davis on April 22 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. And Garcia is really taking the fight quite seriously, and it was apparent in Ryan Garcia’s latest training photos which broke the internet.
Garcia agreed to drop down near the lightweight limit of 135 pounds to face Davis after weighing in at the junior welterweight maximum of 140 pounds prior to his last fight.

Oscar De La Hoya, whose company promotes Garcia, played down the rehydration clause, stating that “both fighters are professionals” and that “there’s no issue whatsoever.”
Davis and Garcia will participate in another press conference on Thursday at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
