Undefeated WBO champion, Billy Joe Saunders, is ready to lock horns with WBA and WBC super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez in May. Despite boasting off a clean record, Saunders can still be the underdog against a mighty Alvarez. However, ‘Superb’ Saunders appears confident of bagging the win.

He envisions a fair fight and wished nothing but good for his opponent. Billy Joe Saunders wants Canelo Alvarez to appear injury-free on fight night. But, he seems geared up to dismantle the P4P King.

Speaking with Pug and Copp Boxing Show, Saunders said, “Please God, I have a beautiful camp and I’ll stay injury-free. And I wish the same for Canelo Alvarez. I hope he has an injury-free camp too.”

Alvarez will have to bring his violent side to take out Saunders. At least, that’s what the WBO champion wants to see inside the squared circle.

He added, “To put to beat me, he has to nail me to the floor. He has to put me to sleep. Because if it’s getting hard for me, trust me, I am gonna make it hard for him. He (Canelo Alvarez) is only human, he is not invincible, he is not superhuman. He’s a super fighter, but he is not super easy, he is just not invincible and a very clever boxer.”

Meanwhile, Avni Yildirim can curb the showdown against Billy Joe Saunders by defeating Alvarez. It will also make Yildirim the new WBC and WBA middleweight champion, changing a lot of dynamics of the ongoing title picture. So, it puts a lot on Alvarez’s shoulders. But, on bagging a win, Canelo Alvarez will move a step closer to his aim of title unification at super middleweight.
