“I Feel Ashamed”- Tyson Fury Cornerman Rubbishes Conspiracy Theories

The world still can’t digest the fact that Tyson Fury absolutely demolished Deontay Wilder this February.
For those who don’t know, the two once-undefeated boxers met for a rematch, where Wilder seemed to be helpless against The Gypsy King. Fury knocked the former down twice. His corner threw in the towel in the seventh round once Wilder’s situation worsened, bringing the match to a stop.

Of course, Wilder no longer remains unbeaten. But it is still unbelievable just how easy the win was for Fury. And in times like these, conspiracy theories sparkle the most.
One of the most prominent theories revolving around the fight revolves around the player’s gloves. Apparently, Fury’s team removed the padding from the gloves, so as to make the opponent more susceptible to his knuckles.
One of Fury’s former opponents, Steve Cunningham, too houses the same belief. He said, “Who throws a hook like this? Slapping a hook? Nobody. Nobody is taught to slap a hook like that. Why is Tyson Fury throwing a hook like this? Especially at that level of boxing. Tyson Fury is literally pulling down his glove at some point in the fight. He’s letting his hand slip down, down to where the knuckles are not protected by any padding.”
Jorge Capetillo rubbishes the theory
The conspiracy theory gained such traction that a member of Fury’s team himself came out to clarify all doubts. Tyson Fury’s cornerman, Jorge Capetillo, recently spoke to World Boxing News regarding the claims.
He said, “People are discrediting this man who has been working and sacrificing to get to this level. There’s a commission who check the gloves after the fight. And when we are in the locker rooms, the commission (is) in charge to bring those gloves to the locker room and they have them themselves until the fighters glove on. There’s no time to manipulate a glove. I feel ashamed for those people who like to discredit the sacrifice of a fighter. In this particular time, Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury is a man of his word, he’s a man who plays fair. He won the fight fair and square. He was the bigger man, he was the strongest man, he was the more IQ man in the ring. And that’s what happened.”

Is it right to blame Tyson Fury?
While Tyson Fury did bag the victory easily, it is unethical to doubt his integrity without evidence. Moreover, before the fight took place, Tyson had told his fans he was training like never before.
He said that he was sacrificing absolutely everything. This way, whatever result he met, no one could say that there could have been something else that he could do.
And his efforts paid off on the D-Day. Fury, who was already a beast, seemed in a world of his own when he met Wilder for the second time.
He clearly divided a whole different class, and there is no doubting it. His focus, speed, strength, and determination were on a whole new level as compared to the last time he had a fight.

Also, Deontay Wilder was not at his best. From the very beginning of the match, The Bronze Bomber was off balance. The devastating punch to his ear sealed the fate of the match. Yet, he stood his ground for five more rounds. Importantly, at the end of the match, he did not attack Fury’s integrity in any manner.
Thus, making claims targeting Fury’s credibility or honesty is insulting to the fighter. The Gypsy King truly earned his victory, so conspiracy fanatics should lay their theories to rest.
