The southpaw rolled out two big names from his checklist of opponents; Gervonta Davis and Leo Santa Cruz. However, he affirmed on a much-needed bout between him and Gervonta Davis.

He said, ”I want Tank (Gervonta Davis) off the rear. Yeah, I want Tank. I definitely wanted Leo (Leo Santa Cruz), I mean not Leo huh, for real Leo is still good at that. I still get Leo, I still spank Leo. But we ain’t gonna scratch him for now. We’re gonna scratch him off the list so Tank definitely for sure.

Russell Jr last fought in February and defended his WBC gold against Tugstsogt Nyambayar.

Will we see Gary Russell Jr. collide with Gervonta Davis in 2021?

Gervonta Davis is one of the brightest young talents to come out of America. He is a devastating knockout artist with an undefeated fight streak. He recently fought against Leo Santa Cruz and knocked him out cold in round 6. Fighting the ‘Tank’ could be Gary’s toughest test to date.

In order to fight Davis, Russell Jr will have to move up to super-featherweight as the latter is the WBA super-featherweight champion. It’s nearly impossible that ‘Tank’ will shed weight to take on the Gary Russell challenge.
