WBC mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte claims to have the perfect gameplan to defeat Tyson Fury.

Ever since he made his comeback, Fury has been on a tear in the heavyweight division. He rose from his grave in the first fight against Deontay Wilder and dominated him in the second one.

The Gypsy King” looked exceptional in both Wilder fights. He outboxed Wilder and displayed his elite-level footwork and head movement. However, Dillian Whyte refrained from praising Fury.

Whyte stated that Wilder does not punch hard. Furthermore, he said that the “Bronze Bomber” cannot throw a body punch.

“He [Fury] knows Deontay Wilder doesn’t hit as hard as what everyone makes out, and Deontay Wilder can’t body punch,” Whyte told Sky Sports.

Dillian Whyte has devised a strategy

Whyte believes that Fury vs Wilder 2 could have had a different outcome if Wilder had to mix up his strikes.

“Had Wilder been hitting him in the body, earlier in the fight, he wouldn’t have been able to get up from that punch in the later rounds, but his body was fresh, his legs were fresh. There was nobody punching going on, Wilder can only headhunt.

“You can shake the head punches off sometimes, but when your body is broken down, and you’ve been hit up and down – that’s how you’ve got to fight Fury, you have to fight up and down.”

Whyte is supposed to fight the WBC belt holder by February 2021. If Fury and Whyte collide, the “Body Snatcher” believes that he will approach the fight differently.

“You can’t just headhunt. He’s a tough guy, he gets up, but I’m going to be targeting head and body, relentless all night long, so it will be a different story.”

Finally, Whyte revealed that he has sparred with Fury before. And despite being inexperienced, he said that he gave Fury a run for his money.

“He has been in the ring with someone like me because I sparred him many times. I was very inexperienced at the time, and I still gave him work. A lot of work!”

As of now, Whyte is scheduled to face off against Alexander Povetkin in August. The Brit is coming off a unanimous decision win over Mariusz Wach.
