Ryan Garcia spoke to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani and expressed his frustrations surrounding uncertain fight dates and overlapping timelines. The WBC Silver Lightweight titleholder spoke out on various topics pertaining to his plans for 2020. July 4th was the expected return to action for the 21-year-old.
Garcia last competed back in February of 2020, where he would score a vicious knockout to retain his gold strap. ‘KingRy’ stopped Costa Rican Francisco Fonseca in the very first round, marking his 20th professional victory.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani, the young boxer aired out his discontent at being unable to compete on July 4. He went into the year with plans of ramping his activity after a relatively busy 2019.
“I’m definitely disappointed. I mean I love doing social media and whatnot, that’s all good and dandy but it’s not really my passion. I just do it because I’m naturally good at it.
