Jake Paul has headed to several elite fighters to hone himself for his upcoming test against former MMA champion, Ben Askren. Starting from Jorge Masvidal to Shane Mosley, ‘The Problem Child’ has had a variant training camp, headed by BJ Flores as the chief.

However, Paul began his pro boxing career under the guidance of Milton Lacroix, and although Logan Paul still resides under the same stable, Jake Paul has walked a different path.

In an interaction with True Geordie, the YouTuber addressed the issue and revealed why he split up with Lacroix. Although Paul has the same respect for his former coach, his will to explore brought him under former champion Shane Mosley and BJ Flores.

“All credit to Milton. I think he is a great coach. For me, what I saw was something wasn’t working, right? Milton and Shannon trained Logan for the KSI fight and it just didn’t add up and I just wanted to see right. You don’t get married to the first girl ever you meet in life,” said Jake Paul.

He added, “I wanted to see who is out there. What are the coaches? What are the styles? Am I gonna like this person a little bit more? And so when I got in with Shane Mosley and BJ Flores up in Big Bear, that sort of just felt right, it felt like this is what I have been missing.”

2-0 as a pro, Paul has caused enough drama in the combat world to be a familiar face. While he will face a professional fighter for the first time in Ben Askren, a victorious Jake Paul can aim for the bigger names ahead.
