The fight began well for Catterall, who relied heavily on his one-and-twos. Along with that, he employed some click counter attacks to press the champ.
Josh Taylor also found it tough to find his rhythm in the early rounds. However, he got comfortable in the second half of the fight. Despite that, Catterall turned even more aggressive, and he dropped Taylor in round 8.
With his constant assault, the underdog landed clean punches as well. That said, Taylor even suffered a cut under the left eye.
The slugfest between the two men went down the wire and the champ even looked to knock his adversary out in the final seconds. He couldn’t do the same, but eventually, Taylor won the fight with a split decision.
