“Make Me World Champion”- Dillian Whyte Asks WBC to Make Tyson Fury ‘Champion in Recess’

As Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 matchup has fallen apart from its scheduled date of July 24th due to Fury’s team testing COVID-positive, WBC Interim champion Dillian Whyte wants to slide into the mix.
‘The Body Snatcher’ has come up with a solution that can resurrect the WBC title fight this month. However, Whyte’s solution may not sit well with the current WBC titlist Tyson Fury.
‘The Body Snatcher’ has advised the WBC to replace his Interim status with the world title and let him defend the WBC belt against Deontay Wilder on July 24th. Hence, Whyte suggested the governing body strip the title from Tyson Fury and award him the same.

Speaking with Sky Sports, Dillian Whyte said, “Make me world champion, I’ll fight Wilder as a world champion, and the winner of that fights Tyson Fury, and the winner of that fights Anthony Joshua for the undisputed. That is where everything is solved with one action.”
He added, “Tyson Fury has held all the titles but has never made a single defense of any of them. It’s a year and a half since he won the WBC belt and still no fight in sight. Just excuses.
“What the hell is going on? It’s a joke. The WBC should make Fury champion in recess like they did Devin Haney, give me the belt, put me in the position, and I’ll fight.”

Still fresh from his win over Alexander Povetkin, Dillian Whyte is still looking for a viable name. Although Charles Martin has called him out, Whyte’s recent statements cite him to be seeking a world title shot.
What’s next for Dillian Whyte?
Despite an alluring solution from his side, WBC doesn’t seem to change the ongoing scenario. Fury vs Wilder 3 has been postponed to October. Thus, in no way will Tyson Fury give his WBC world title away.
Meanwhile, the aftermath of the WBC world title fight would demand a unification battle for all four world championships. So, it would put Whyte out of the championship picture for some more time.
