Gervonta Davis remains unbeaten. ‘The Tank’ cruised past Hector Luis Garcia on January 7 at Washington D.C.’s Capital One Arena. As much as it was defending his title for the fourth time, for Davis, it could as well be a preparatory fight for the big battle approaching on April 15.

The latest win must have bolstered the Baltimorean’s morale and provided a fillip to his preparations. Not surprisingly, recent comments from Mike Tyson have been effusive in their admiration of the star boxer.
Iron Mike thinks the 28-year-old may become a legend in the sport if he keeps competing at his present state.
While speaking with TMZ Sports, Iron Mike dished out enormous praise, saying that people often remark that ‘Tank’ is the spitting image of himself.
He said, “Tank is a great fighter. “He’ll be [a legend] too if he keeps fighting.”

But it will not be the first time the former champion appreciated Davis. On June 26, 2021, ‘The Tank’ defeated Mario Barrios at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The win fetched him WBA (Regular) Super Lightweight title. Mighty impressed, Iron Mike reportedly called him “probably the greatest fighter around now.”
Davis’ name made headlines for non-boxing reasons before his fight with Hector Garcia. Nonetheless, the victory on January 7th confirmed the seriousness with which he views the fight against Ryan Garcia, as both appear to be headed toward the biggest battle of their careers.
