Mike Tyson Thinks He Won the Buster Douglas Fight: ‘He Was Knocked Out for 14 Seconds’

James ‘Buster’ Douglas shocked the world with an upset when he knocked out Mike Tyson in their title clash in 1990. It was Tyson’s maiden pro defeat that ended a win-streak of 36 fights. However, even three decades later, ‘Iron’ is not ready to accept the loss.
Despite being concussed, Mike Tyson believes that he knocked out Douglas in round 8 and blames the referee for giving him a long count.
It was a thunderous uppercut that floored Douglas and apparently, people saw ‘Iron’ Mike winning the fight with another KO. However, ‘Buster’ regained ha vertical base and put on a clinical showdown to finish Tyson in round 10.

Tyson recently connected with the YouTube page of djvlad to recall the incident. He cited it as a robbery in Douglas’ favor.
Talking about it, ‘Iron’ Mike said, “He (Douglas) panicked and he never really been in the magnitude of a fight like that and they panicked. Well, I didn’t care about my eye, but I was complaining about that he was knocked out for… 14 seconds. And they gave him (Douglas) a long count.”
He added, “It was the truth. Do it again and count, as soon as he hit the floor, it was 14 seconds when he got up…Well, look at it right now. You can look at it right now, at your phone here.”
To validate his dominant aura, Tyson further said, “He (Douglas) never fought me back.”

‘Iron’ has had 58 pro fights in which he has won 50 (44 KOs) and lost 6, with 2 no-contests. Meanwhile, Douglas has a record of 37 wins, 6 losses, and one no-contest.
