‘No One Could be Mike Tyson’- Mike Tyson Details the Importance of Inherited Talent

Age is just a number, but heavyweight stalwart Mike Tyson, who became the youngest man to grab the world title claims, there’s a specialty in starting early.

He began his boxing career at the mere age of 14 in the amateur unit, under the guidance of Cus D’Amato. Six years later, a 20-year-old Tyson knocked out Trevor Berbick to become the heavyweight titleholder at the professional level.

That said, Mike Tyson has had witnessed several glorious moments in his boxing career. He is one of the greatest to have ever graced the squared circle. But who does ‘Iron Mike’ consider as the greatest?

Well, Tyson has hailed several elites as his idols. But, when it comes to an early career rise, he bills Rocky Marciano and Larry Holmes as two of the finest.

According to Tyson, everyone is different and has variant roles to play. But, there’s something special in every individual that gets reflected at an early age. Hence, whilst on djVlad he hailed Marciano and Holmes for their boxing accolades.

Tyson said, “No one could be Mike Tyson. Everybody’s gonna be who they are gonna be. Whatever they are gonna do.”

He added, “Everybody is different. You look at this, Rocky Marciano and Larry Holmes, they probably are the only two heavyweights that probably started in their 20s or late like 19-20 and they are two of the greatest heavyweights, ever lived.”

While the boxing legend pours so much love on his early age, 54-year-old Tyson is equally looming.

He returned to the boxing ring a month back against Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition clash at the Staples Center.

Tyson looked sharp in the fight and appeared to have found the itch to enter the boxing ring again. He billed it as the beginning and vowed to return for more exhibition fights.

That said, the youngest heavyweight world champion is an all-out elite who continues to enrich the sport of boxing, even at his dotage.
