The much-awaited update on the Oleksandr Usyk situation is finally upon us. Alexander Krassyuk, the Ukrainian’s manager, spoke about the heavyweight challenger’s next move. He also provided an update on its implication on the Anthony Joshua–Tyson Fury fight.
This comes because of the complicated situation Usyk finds himself in, as he is the mandatory for Anthony Joshua’s WBO belt. However, the Englishman looks set to fight Tyson Fury in a mega-fight. Hence, many suspected Usyk would have to fight Joe Joyce.

Speaking exclusively to SkySports, Krassyuk gave an update on the Joyce fight. “I received the call from George Warren [the son of Joyce’s promoter Frank Warren] with the offer to promote Usyk vs Joyce for the interim WBO heavyweight championship this spring.”
This showed that the booking is a serious consideration right now, with the victor almost guaranteed a shot at the winner of Fury-Joshua. This could also be a cracking fight for fans, and an adequate test for both fighters before they compete against the champion.
