” I Most Likely Have It”- Boxer Feared To Be Carrying Coronavirus

Swedish Boxer Otto Wallin has been in self-quarantine since march 14th after reporting symptoms of Coronavirus. Wallin announced on Monday night that he was almost certain he had contracted the virus after developing flu-like symptoms.

Speaking about his symptoms to TMZ,  Wallin said

“For me, it’s been very mild. I had a cough, I was sneezing and I felt like I had a slight fever. But I didn’t have a fever. And then, I started feeling better. But then, I lost all of my sense of taste and smell. I don’t have any smell still, but the taste is coming back. I feel fine. That’s kind of the scary part. I haven’t been feeling bad, but I most likely have it. That’s why everybody needs to follow the guidelines and stay inside as much as possible and keep practising social distancing. It can be really serious for some people.”

Otto’s sickness seems to have originated from close family members after his mother tested positive for the virus. His mother returned to Sweden on the 14th of march after visiting her son in New York. 12,300 positive cases have been confirmed in the ‘’big apple’’ with the densely populated city at high risk.

However, despite the deadly nature of the virus neither Wallin or his mother have undergone tests. Wallin reported that neither of them had developed strong enough symptoms to go for a check-up and would rather give up the test to someone who needs it more. With the rate at which the virus is spreading, hospitals are having a tough time given the lack of ventilators and swab tests making it impossible to treat all those affected.

Speaking about his decision to not take the test, Otto  Wallin said

“They wouldn’t test my mom because her symptoms were like a flu . She had a high fever, but nothing worse really than a flu. And for me, it’s been even lighter. I was debating with myself if I had symptoms or not. I was sneezing and coughing, but not too bad. When I lost my smell and taste, that confirmed it.”

Wallin was last seen in action against ‘’The Gypsy King’’ Tyson Fury where he lost in a thrilling encounter. However, after his recent withdrawal, it’s hard to predict when we will see the Swedish superstar in action.
