WBC champion Tyson Fury is at the top of the heavyweight division after his career-defining win over Deontay Wilder in October 2021, which turned out to be one of the best trilogies in boxing history. He can now move in any direction at will and is expected to return to action shortly. That said, several potential contenders are already looking viable to welcome him.

From Dillian Whyte to Andy Ruiz Jr., ‘The Gypsy King’s combat radar expands to a great extent. However, Fury’s UK promoter, Frank Warren, seems to have outlined plans of hosting an undisputed title fight out of them all. It means Oleksandr Usyk can topple the race over everyone and earn a shot at Tyson Fury.

In an exclusive media interaction, Frank Warren said, “It’s a saga but if we can keep things between us, we can get something over the line one way or another.”

“We are still working on things but I believe over the weekend we will make some progress and then have something to announce”

“Everybody in boxing wants to see the undisputed fight between Tyson and Usyk, I want to see it just as a fan. So that is the fight we are trying to make.”

Oleksandr Usyk shocked the world by vanquishing Anthony Joshua for the WBA, WBO, and IBF titles in September 2021. He slid into the heavyweight title race out of nowhere and is now an undefeated world champion, a feat which he shares with Tyson Fury. Nevertheless, he may have to re-match Anthony Joshua and beat him once again to march towards the undisputed title fight.

While several people looked down at Usyk before his fight against Joshua, he turned the tables brilliantly when put inside the ring. Now, he is looking liable to offer a tough time to ‘The Gypsy King’. Although it’s hard to picture Fury losing to Usyk, the Ukrainian star’s ability to land upsets can never be written off.

Besides, Usyk is one of the best technical boxers and has a southpaw stance. It turns him even more treacherous in the ring and Tyson Fury shall never sleep on an opponent like him. Well, the matchup is still far from being put on the papers. But on meeting fruition, it can be a fight feast for fans all over the world.
