Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will reportedly collide against each other in the biggest heavyweight title unification showdown of the era. It’s the fight that the boxing community has demanded for a long time, and they can finally see it happen this year.

But where do the heavyweight champions go after the fight? While there are several doors open for them, Matchroom kingpin, Eddie Hearn, predicts to see a retirement call from Tyson Fury.

Aged 32, Fury has claimed it all in the sport. He has all touched the heavyweight titles and is still undefeated with a record of 30 wins and one draw. A fight against Anthony Joshua could be his final challenge. And if he wins, he would have cemented himself as the best.

Speaking with Express Sport, the Matchroom director said, “Once you win those two fights, do you want to fight [Oleksandr] Usyk, do you want to fight Joe Joyce? You’ve got to really, they’re the contenders. This is everything. It doesn’t get any bigger than this. Fury might retire after two fights.”

However, he didn’t predict the same for unified titleholder Anthony Joshua and envisioned that his top-prodigy would fight for five more years before calling it a day.

Hearn continued, “AJ is looking at five years. This will just be part of his legacy.”
