Errol Spence Jr. booked a possible super-fight with Terence Crawford when he beat Danny Garcia. However, there are multiple issues that may prevent these stars from getting booked. Most of it is political, with different managers and promoters involved in any potential negotiation. Everyone wants the fighters in the ring at the end of the day.
However, Errol Spence Jr. has said something which may further complicate this booking.
“Oh yeah, I definitely should get the bigger share. You know the proof is in the pudding. Who’s the bigger draw for fans like that. So, you know, he’s a great fighter and… has all the skills and ability, but, I feel like 60/40 or whatever it may be, I feel like that’s the right price.

But, at the end of the day, it’s about sitting at the table and we haven’t sat at the table yet. My manager and his promoter haven’t sat at a table, talked. The discussion come in once my manager get in it and his promoter gets in because I don’t know what the f*** BoMac do.”

Crawford is considered a larger name conventionally, but ESJ’s performance against Garcia showed his viability as a top draw. It is hard to argue with this. Heading into a possible fight right now, ‘The Truth’ may be the bigger name.
Errol Spence Jr: Bartering with his name on the line
Holding off agreeing on terms for a super-fight like this is a bold move. However, it is also the right move for Spence Jr. It will be hard for them to get a fight done if Spence Jr insists on a 60-40 share. Crawford himself may have a lot of problems with this demand.

At the end of the day, if the fighters are serious about fighting each other, they will figure out a compromise. A 50/50 split wouldn’t make either man happy, so it will be a pain for the negotiating parties to agree on this fight.
