Ryan Garcia ranks among those names, who are expected to have a massive buzz around their return to the ring this year. The young gun kept a lackluster run in 2021 and more than anyone, he himself seems keen on compensating for the same. And this may happen when Garcia takes on multiple fights this year.
Many have termed his return as a solid and perhaps a much-awaited comeback. But, ‘King Ry’ recently came up with a clarification on why his return fight won’t be a ‘comeback’.
“This is a resume not a comeback,” he wrote on Twitter.

This is a resume not a comeback

Garcia is one of the most renowned young boxing stars. He has a massive fan following, and every hardcore boxing fan is keen to see him inside the ring.
Last year, he locked horns with Luke Campbell for the WBC interim lightweight strap. In this fight, the Briton took Garcia to deep waters. ‘King Ry’ went on the canvas in the second round itself. However, he revived himself again to put the pressure back on Campbell.
A win in this fight was important, as Garcia had to line himself up for a title fight ahead. As a result, it was in round 7 when the 23-year-old struck Campbell with a crucifying body shot.
He won this fight in a sensational fashion, but what followed later was unexpected. Garcia went through a terrible phase and he even ended up with an injury. With that, he pulled out of a couple of fights and even got stripped of his WBC interim title.
However, ‘King Ry’ is now in the best mental frame to ‘resume’ his stint.
Who will Ryan Garcia face on his much-awaited return?
