In recent times, WBC Interim lightweight champion, Ryan Garcia, has deviated his attention from fighting WBA champion, Gervonta Davis, to fighting Manny Pacquiao. However, Garcia’s trainer Eddy Reynoso still favors ‘Tank’ over ‘Pac-Man’ as the ‘KingRy’s’ upcoming opponent.
Following a win over Luke Campbell, Ryan Garcia called out Gervonta Davis for an in-ring collision. Later, the two verbally agreed to lock horns. But, Garcia seemingly bagged a fight against Manny Pacquiao and went silent on fighting Davis.
Eddy Reynoso connected with Boxing Scene and commented on Garcia’s next opponents. Although he didn’t curb a possible showdown with Pacquiao, Reynoso still prioritized Davis amongst all.

He said, “I really don’t like that fight. Manny Pacquiao has all that experience, it’s a fight at a heavier weight against (a naturally) bigger fighter. But in my role as a teacher, my job is to prepare him for these fights that he and the team accept.”
Meanwhile, a fight against WBA titleholder Gervonta Davis seems alluring to the Mexican trainer. It has Reynoso’s interest as he billed Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis as the biggest superstars of the era. He pointed at some facts to validate his claims.
Eddy Reynoso continued, “The fight I like more is ‘Tank’ Davis. To me, it’s a far more interesting fight. They are at the same weight and their fight can exceed expectations. A fight between Ryan Garcia and Tank Davis can be the biggest fight in boxing.
They are two of the biggest stars of this new generation. Manny Pacquiao is great, but he’s part of a past generation. The young fans of Ryan Garcia and young fans of Gervonta Davis are going to want to see that fight.”
