Turkish super middleweight, Avni Yildirim, has the chance to beat P4P king Canelo Alvarez and become the WBC and WBA champion on February 27. The two are slated to lock horns in a main-event clash, promoted by Matchroom Boxing.

However, Tony Bellew doesn’t see ‘Mr. Robot’ overpower the Mexican giant. According to the former British boxer, Canelo Alvarez will bag a lopsided win against Yildirim, before the WBO 168 lbs champion Billy Joe Saunders enters the ride.

Speaking on Talk The Talk, Bellew shared his opinion on the upcoming super middleweight fight and akin to most of the fans, he billed his favor for Alvarez.

“The first thing is Yildirim is at absolutely at it, he is going to get tanked. And tanked like you haven’t seen before because Canelo is just a beast and when you are competing at the levels. Yildirim is getting tanked, as simple as that, and then the minute the tanking ends, Billy Joe is going to get in,” said Tony Bellew.

Boxing is an unpredictable sport and has often witnessed major upsets happen. That said, Avni Yildirim can register another one by outpointing a prime Canelo Alvarez. By doing so, he would present a real problem to the super middleweight fights in the pipeline for 2021.

The entire card is yet to be set up. But, the key event has already sent shock waves throughout the boxing community, citing a major blockbuster ahead. However, Tony Bellew might have made the right call, as Alvarez seems to be a man on a mission.

Following a loss against Anthony Dirrell in 2019, Yildirim will reappear in the ring against Alvarez after over two years. Meanwhile, ‘Canelo’ will have shaken off any ring-rust following his bout against Smith in December.

So, the P4P king is clearly the favorite and can bag an early win on the fight night.
