Watch: Football Legend Diego Maradona Shines as a Boxer in a Resurfaced Video

Over the years, many athletes and celebrities have tied their hands with boxing gloves to give a shot at the sport. But it seems like one football legend did it before. Argentinian Football legend Diego Maradona‘s old video of inside the boxing ring in an exhibition bout has resurfaced on social media. The clip shows the late sensation displaying his boxing skills in front of the fans gathered to see him clash with his opponent. Maradona, unfortunately, passed away from a heart attack in the November of 2020. His legacy surpassed him in any form. And is still remembered as one of the greatest football players who ever graced the football pitch. And the clip shows another side of him.

A clip is going viral since it was posted on social media. In the clip, the late sensation can be seen flexing his boxing skills as he graced the boxing ring to put up a show for the fans in an exhibition fight. And, as the fight ends, he moves on to one of the most unusual things inside the boxing ring.

Boxing legend Maradona tightened his gloves in 1996 to fight his friend and former world champion  Santos ‘Falucho’ Laciar in a three-round exhibition bout. The proceedings from the fight were supposed to go to General Paz Junior’s Club in Cordoba, Argentina.

Maradona and Santos put on their boxing gloves and head guards to put on a good show for the people who witnessed this odd matchup. The video on Instagram was posted by youngsavagerare.In the clip, Maradona is seen going ballistic at his opponent while Laciar defends all his blows and flexes his head movement.

Further in the video, Maradona is given the opportunity to show his defense. And it is safe to say that the boxing legend did a good job at that. The fight, however, ended in a draw between the two. And, when the fight ended, Maradona being Maradona, took a football and began flexing his juggling skills to the audience. On many occasions, Maradona’s legacy is compared to that of Muhammad Ali.
