Sources close to Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder confirmed the fight will be pushed to October 3rd . The trilogy was set for July 18th, but with the current pandemic the world is facing, promoters have decided to postpone the fight.
The rematch was a monumental event for the sport of boxing. Tyson ‘The Gypsy King’ Fury put on a class act, dominating Wilder in each round. Deontay Wilder activated the trilogy clause, thus allowing both fighters to square-off one last time.

The Athletic has confirmed, 3rd october is the stipulated date for the fight. With major bouts cancelled, both sets of promoters have assured, the trilogy won’t meet the same fate. With the virus spreading rampantly, the sentiments shared by both sets of promoters are understandable.
Coronavirus has derailed several major sporting events, with the Olympics, European championships pushed to 2021. Boxing met a similar fate, with major stars such as Shakur Stevenson , Fury and Wilder having fights postponed due to the same.

“Al and his people are in touch with us all the time on this. We see things the same way. We’ll be very, very cautious moving ahead and pray this will be over at a particular time and we will be able to make smart plans. Nobody has ever experienced anything like this before.”
With the trilogy set for early October, we can only hope there aren’t any further delays.
